Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search feature is sent directly to the outside provider operating that feature. The provider processes the entry and supplies its results. We do not keep or record those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, we retain the message as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive routine technical information when a page loads, which may include:
- The device's assigned IP address
- Browser type and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- A referring website, when available
- The date and time of each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Small cookie files help measure how visitors move through the website, including which pages draw traffic and where visits end. Analytics providers combine this activity into usage reports. You can block cookies through browser controls, although doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
Information collected through normal website operation may be used for the following purposes:
- Maintaining site availability, speed, and operation
- Routing a requested search to the appropriate partner
- Understanding which pages are useful to visitors
- Finding and correcting technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal-history information. The website provides general directions to Payette County record custodians, including the Payette County Sheriff's Office, Idaho courts, the Idaho State Police Bureau of Criminal Identification, and the Idaho Central Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not used to create consumer reports or dossiers about other people, and we are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Idaho Code 67-3008(6) separately limits redistribution of criminal-history record information received from BCI without a subject release unless another law permits it.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes displayed on the website. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. We do not control a partner's retention, processing, or sharing choices. Review the applicable policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Payette County offices, Idaho court portals, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you follow an external link, the destination's privacy terms apply. Read those terms before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to follow activity across websites and select targeted ads. That processing does not occur on systems we control.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be available in limited circumstances to:
- Outside search providers that process a query you submit
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that serve ads on the website
- Government or law-enforcement authorities responding to a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard security measures are used to protect information in our possession. No internet-connected service can guarantee perfect security, however. We work to guard the data we handle but cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If a minor is believed to have provided information, contact us so it can be removed promptly.
Your Data Rights
Rights may differ based on where you live. Idaho consumer and public-record law, including the Idaho Public Records Act, Idaho Code Title 74, chapter 1, may affect access to information held by public agencies. For personal data held by us, you may at least:
- Request a copy of information maintained about you
- Ask that incorrect information be corrected
- Seek deletion of your information
- Opt out of certain processing activities
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised in the future. A replacement will appear on this page with its new effective date, so review the page periodically if you want to track changes in these practices.
